This place is a must see in Whyalla. If you like museums you will like the way the information is displayed and interpreted. It is a very interactive museum. The kids during the school holidays is having a fun and a very informative activities of which they will have a prize after completing it, the other good thing about the kids activities besides it's educational that it is very well distributed along the museum halls so it keeps the children busy while parents can enjoy each hall. I missed the ship tour though

Did the boat tour today and really enjoyed it. Our tour guide was excellent, she was very funny and informative and kept the tour at a good pace. It was fun getting to explore the ship, take selfies in the control room and learn a little history. Worth the 15!
This was a wonderful experience but there are stairs and ladders to negotiate. I found it very interesting as well as the museum. A lot of good information and some history that was eye opening to say the least. It is a pity that there are not more volunteers to assist with ship maintenance. Oh well, that is a situation that a lot of museums suffer I believe. Be careful if you are mozzie prone and sit in the cool gardens leading down to the museum display building. They are hungry little pests. I had a great time.
This was a great tour, definitely worth doing. We had a good tour leader who knew a lot of information and answered all our questions. The museum was really cool, definitely check out the model train set up!!
Interesting touring over the ship . The day was very hot and extremely windy so it was not very comfortable but the guide tried to make it more bearable . The museum building had many interesting displays, well worth visiting.
Ship tour was good but if the group is too large you don't get to all the ship which was disappointing given that it is a paid tour
Very interesting tour, especially followed by the maritime museum where the story can be seen of how the 'Whyalla returned to Whyalla
very informative guide, was happy to do some extra investigation on questions she could answer at the time
