Great experience for the family. A beautiful new building with amazing architecture. If you find yourself thinking of somewhere cheap but incredible to visit with the kids in tow, try the new and improved Perth Museum

The newly opened and renovated museum of Perth holds many interesting exhibitions spread over several floors. We spent a few hours here and will still have to come back again to view what we didn't get time to see. Definitely worth visiting.
Visited the 'new' museum today and found myself largely underwhelmed and slightly disappointed. Overall, in my opinion it is a downgrade from the old building. While it is a nicer building it has lost a lot of what made perth museum special. I found that while being a larger building it seemed somewhat empty. It was also somewhat thrown together finding it hard to navigate and making seem like a jumbled mess of random things. The interactive elements were great but too overused and took away slightly from the overall experience. Definitely not what I was hoping for and a definite downgrade
The building looks exactly as it was constructed in the early 1900s. The surrounding skyscrapers may have engulfed this structure, however his history still remains, like wine, the older the better . Walking into this historical monument, you will be amazed that you have travelled back in time. The 1st floor has panels and display as well as a video clip of the history of the monumental structure. Don't forget to try the fully functional lift, like in the old movie which works too. Many thanks to Greg, who is volunteering his services to tourist to this amazing building .
Great treat for young and old. Interactive displays make the experience that more interesting.
Very disappointing. For a capital city, this place is as run down as they come. One room in a derelict building with an interesting history of Perth but thats it...show ends. Entry by donation. Not worth a visit.
Too much of the same stuff. Loved the old museum.
A good place for a family outing. Guaranteed to get your kids imagination flowing. Some awesome things to see and wonder at.
