I knew all about the "Mutiny on the Bounty" but was not aware of the story of the Pandora and the efforts of the Royal Navy to recover the “pirated” Bounty, and bring the mutineers to justice. Loved the info on how it all took place. The dinosaur exhibit is also very informative and realistic. There's a whole lot more to come and experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the hours I spent inside the museum. Staff were friendly and helpful. There's a great coffee shop if you need refreshments.

Lovely interactive and audio visual elements across the galleries.Lots to discover about the reef, the rainforest the Pandora ship wreck and more. Something for everyone, even a welcoming cafe with good food and service and riverfront views while you eat. Thx.

From the moment you step inside you find a nice little gift/souvenir shop, climb the stairs or take the lift to Level 1 and there is a Full Size HMS Pandora cutout plus a 2 meter wooden model, this floor is mainly about the Pandora, and there is a Cafe so you can have time out. Then either take the long ramp or lift again and you can visit the attached Science Building filled with stuff for both the young and old to do, challenges, skills based. Then travel to the top floor for Coral, birds, dinosaurs, Rain Forest and more. Allow at least 1 hour but, you could easily spend 2 or more. Traveling exhibits also feature throughout the year. Locals do get 1 day a month FREE entry, which I find to be very cool! Thanks!

A wonderful place for the whole family to visit and explore: the interactive science lab, the reef exhibit and the Pandora shipwreck exhibit; the rainforest play zone is a hit with the kids; there are also guided tours offered; and finally the museum cafe is located right opposite the marina so you can enjoy the views over a nice cup of coffee or refreshing strawberry milkshake.

I highly recommend this place. Prices are fantastic and for the stuff this place offers you, you really can't get any better then this! My children absolutely loved visiting the science area of this museum as it was filled with interactive stations. The dinosaur exhibit was not as big as what I thought it would be but it was still in all very interesting. There is also a cafe inside of the museum so having lunch here is the perfect end to your tour.

This is an awesome place to take the kids in the school holidays, especially when the weather is wet or it's too hot to hang out on the Strand. An extra bonus is that if you are a resident of Charters Towers, admission is free - Thanks to the support from Charters Towers Regional Council. Definitely worth a visit.
