It’s a great place to visit. I learnt a lot about Darwin, sea creatures, butterflies, etc. It’s free entry, you can choose to donate or not. The gift store sells mango ice cream & locally handmade butterfly brooches.

Wow, this place was great. Kids loved it and the staff were super friendly. It was free and mostly air conditioned. Do yourself a favor and visit, you will learn a lot.

The Cyclone Tracy exhibition really brought home the power and devastation caused by the cyclone. Listening to its roar was quite unnerving. The prehistory and wildlife exhibits were also interesting, showcasing some animals that might otherwise be difficult to see up close. There were some attractive, but limited, artworks on display, including some Indigenous artifacts. Overall a worthwhile diversion from the heat of the outdoors and a useful educational resource for older kids and adults.

This is a great museum, perfect size for a casual midway wander out of the heat. Cyclone Tracey display is very good, as are the boats of the local coastline. Currently running a yr 12 art exhibition which worth seeing.

We started our Saturday by exploring the museum and art gallery - such a rich collection which gives justice to the various and most significant aspects of the development of this region - early geology; indigenous peoples, flora and fauna, maritime, industrial and agricultural age and Darwin in the 20th/21st centuries. Really enjoyed the collection

Small but wonderful Museum and gallery. Easy to navigate and the Cyclone Tracy exhibition is a must. Lots of beautiful Aboriginal art on display. This is also the perfect place to escape the Darwin heat in the middle of the day.

Good museum with lots of Darwin and the NT history on show. Plenty of parking and free entry. Worth a look.
