Great little museum for anyone interested in rocks and minerals. Or just likes looking at pretty shiny things. Allow 1 hour to see and read everything.

Interesting place, informative staff, loved learning about the minerals and rocks discovered and mined around our local. A microscope so you can look at them in detail. A little gift shop aswell to purchase some very reasonable priced rocks to take home. Donation as the entry fee. I love crystals Just a couple of photos I thought I'd share.

I learnt so much just from one visit and totally enjoyed myself. The Claude Marquette exhibition gave a great insight not only to the challenges of mining, but the history of Broken Hill and tied in beautifully. The gentleman who was working on the day we attended was a bit of a Gem himself! We were waiting at the door as he opened up for the day and his enthusiasm was infections. He was a wealth of knowledge and took the time to answer the questions we had not just about the Museum, but Broken Hill and the best places to visit. A complete advocate for the town!

Very interesting to see how the Broken Hill mine all started, nice range of local minerals and theatrette. Entry is a 5 donation for a family, they don't accept cash at the moment. Well worth a look.

The Geo centre as it's locally known covers the different minerals and genealogical finds that are apart of the Line of Lode. There are some great audio visual presentations, many mineral displays and lots of read. It's a must visit for those who love geology and enjoy gemstones and mineral collections.
