The museum in a beautiful historic building built by British and well maintained. Its is walking distance to shops, transports, offices, restaurants, St Mary's Cathedral in the heart of Sydney. A good place for kids and adults.

Absolutely loved the visit! Such an amazing collection. Worth every minute spent and admiring everything. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Would love to go back again someday as it would take you easy 3-4 hours to see everything in the museum. The birds section was something that I would like to spend more and more time into. A commendable job to set up such an artistic collection.
Excellent covid safe venue. Favourite display was the first nation section. The security guy at the front could have been more helpful. He wouldn't let us store our empty suitcase and didn't offer a solution. Spoke to his manager a kiwi bloke, who showed us a spot We could hide the bag whilst we were in the museum.
Visited for their Thursday after-dark experience! Had an awesome time - good idea for a date night. There was a pop-up bar and dance floor with a DJ, some lovely free exhibitions and the dinosaur one (paid entry) was pretty cool to see. Great vibe and the renovations are wonderful. Glad the museum is back in business!
We had so much fun visiting the Australia Museum! The renovation is incredible and it’s so nice that it’s free right now. There are many interesting exhibits on a variety of topics. We particularly enjoyed the pop-up photography exhibit. The kids around seemed very interested in the dinosaurs and animals, so it’s a great place for family as well. We spent about 2 hours and found that was sufficient time to see everything. Definitely check it out, especially while it’s still free!
Great day outing at the Australian Museum. Perfect activity to keep family entertained especially now the general entry is free. The museum has recently been renovated. There is also a free Australian Geographic photo exhibition currently (Jan 2021) at the museum. The restaurant on Level 4 is a great place to stop for lunch also. Restaurant is called “No 1 William”. Great views and you can reserve a table online also.
In love with this museum. I'm a big fan of dinosaur exhibition. When I know that Australian Museum has dinosaur exhibition, I was so excited. It did not turn me down. Everything was amazing, a day to gain more knowledge related to the world outside. This museum also provides interesting information about Australia as well. Will be back someday. Free general admission
Beautiful experience with friendly staff really helpful. Lot of excibits to see, really informative well kept. Kids will enjoy interactive part. A must visit, they also have yearly membership as well. Which is something to look into. Really worth the visit.
