Came here with a group of four on New Year's Day. The place was packed and the staff were run off their feet. They definitely could have used and extra staff member. However, despite being so busy, the staff were very accommodating and willing to put to tables together for our group. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive, which was understandable, given the number of people that were waiting for their orders, but I think they should have notified people when they sat down that the wait would be so long. I think they were trying their best. The portions are fairly small and the prices are quite high. The food is good, but nothing special. The best thing about this place was that it was open on New Year's Day.

Reading through the reviews, this cafe seems to be a hit or miss. For my experience with a few mates for brunch, it was excellent. Gavin, I assumed to be the owner, is a top bloke! Friendly service and the food is very resonably priced for the amount and quality. Coffee and tea (tried both) were great. Great cozy place to start your day. Would definitely recommend.
I could immediately feel the warm rustic atmosphere when I walked in to have a burger and it was great! Its crust was almost brioche-style. The boss is friendly. I can always remember that awesome milkshake with his special homemade butterscotch syrup... The café is a bit cramped with limited seating spaces though.
This place is SENSATIONAL. The quality and presentation of the coffee and food was outstanding. 9 for a regular coffee and a bacon and egg role is great value for money. Gavin the owner/manager is a charming and very friendly guy who remembered from my previous visit. If you're in Redfern you've gotta pop in. Great location right the cross roads opposite the park. Say Big-Bald-Ben told you to pop in!!
I think Tapeo is a good place to enjoy your breakfast. Restaurateurs are very kind！
Tapeo has a change in management and I have noticed lot of changes. The old owner wasn't really nice however the new owner is very friendly and customer focused. The cafe now has a great coffee and the food is amazing too. I have been with my family over the weekend and the price is really good because of their new menu. The staff is amazing and I had a great service and fantastic food. I would recommend all those who have given 1 star to go back and check this cafe out which is under new management.
Overall I had a lovely experience. The Owners made sure the food arrived on time and checked if the food was good , must say I ordered for a Vegetarian Sandwich, the veggies were so fresh and well grilled. The coffee powder is organic as well so If you looking for a nice cafe around Redfern this is the place to go to. Should also mention the management has changed and the new management is really considerate and caring about serving the best and providing the best customer service. Would highly recommend this awesome cafe to everyone.
Ordered scones and pancakes. Scones were nothing out of ordinary. Pancakes were better. Even though the food wasn't outstandingly good, the staff was really friendly. The chef even came out to make sure we had enough syrup and food was okay.
