Great place to do tour an old mine and buy opal. this is located right next to the Coober Pedy comfort inn. Very pleasant staff and reasonable prices. Tours are 12.00 per person. They also have a noodling pit if you want to try and fine some opal.

A fascinating place in the heart of opal country. The mine has plenty of opal still visible in it's veins and the collection of memorabilia was amazing. A self guided tour meant you could explore it at your own pace. The miners houses underground gave an authentic feel to the experience. A must see. Great opals for sale, we bought one.

Great value 15 for an adult. Got to see an old mine, an older style underground house, plus a newer 90ish style house. Highly recommended. Best thing we did in Coober Pedy

Totally amazing experience, we have enjoyed a lot, the staff was so kind and helpful, we are giving 11 out of 10! It is a must if you come to Coober Pedy!!! And they also provide a free space for camping with clean toilets available 24/7 This place is so unique and interesting, and this museum answer all your questions and explain you all you need to know to understand the opal mining and underground life.

Lovely mine and museum where you can complete a great self-guided tour which gives you a broad understanding of the town, it's history, its mining and how people lived. The museum at the end of the tour as well as the gift shop were great as well. This is a must do and probably one of the first things you should do when you get to Coober Pedy.

A must when visiting Coober Pedy. Highly recommend the self-guided tour in the Old Timers Mine & Museum. Lots to see and learn about opal mining. The owners Nick Sr. & Nick Jr. were very friendly and helpful and gave us great advice on other things to do/ see in Coober Pedy. Thanks for your hospitality!
