An hour walk in, over highland via fire trail with not much bush cover - if travelling in summer, make sure you are well covered. The tree trunks had a beautiful assortment of colour but the main view is at the end once you get to the precipice - stunning (partly moss covered) rock formations. Then an hour walk back in the same direction.

A very easy 8kms return walk. There is nothing much to see on the track until you reach the end. If you are lucky you might see couple of kangaroos in the evening. Be careful while combing the rocks.

Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve seems to be a large area and Castle Rock track is within it. It’s poorly signed and easy to miss and doesn’t tell you what’s there if you take the walk nor whether water, picnic area, bbq available. I suspect there are no amenities. We started walking but turned back due to a thunderstorm.

Went to this place on google map and it turns out that it’s not the place as per all the photos provided. Search for the track for a while and end up giving up. Drove pass Castle rock trail and went there instead as we were already there. Surprisingly it is the place that was in the picture. Not sure why is this walking trail on munghorn gap reserve. The end of the track has amazing views. Totally worth the trip there. However be sure to take note of the route and we were lost after we were going from rocks to rocks and could find the original way.

Beautiful views. 4km hike on 4wd track a bit boring but easy though

Flat, level walk for 90% of the track. Good for beginners. A bit uneventful but would be good on a bike or if you had a pram. The last section of the walk requires some climbing but well worth it for the view. The track is 4km and you have to wall back along the same way you came.

Yes the Castle Rocks walk is a pleasant trail through the bush and a great view at the end. However I was unable to find a path at the actual reserve to try and see some of the local birdlife.
