Mait's Rest provides a beautiful break to stop and appreciate nature. With flourishing ferns and towering trees, this is a must see for those who appreciate nature. It's a very short walk and not too strenuous. There are some slight declines and inclines but they're over quickly. Would recommend!

An cool, atmospheric and very leafy, green walk through a richly hued remnant of rainforest, one of several extant in the Great Otway National Park. I feel the engineered boardwalk is very much an intrusion into the environment, but necessary for preserving the scenic and natural values as well as ensuring visitors dont' get themselves lost (which has happened in the past!). Highly recommended for a walk when it is raining as this adds a new dimension. The 'Heritage Tree' is very old indeed, and a much-loved focal point on this evergreen trail of discovery.

I've been coming here for 20 years and it's just a wonderful place to visit. Within minutes you feel the temperature change and you are surrounded by beautiful tree ferns. In recent years the walk way has been updated, the trees are giants and you can get unclose to the huge trunk bases. Don't just drive by, go in and enjoy.

Nice loop walk. More signs with information than the other areas. The start has a map of the loop with photo op areas and rest areas marked out. No toilets. No tables. Big parking area. Also, if you’re coming from the beech forest area (Hopetoun falls) be mindful the road that leads to this spot is single lane and very winding and gravel/dirt.

A very well maintained short round easy track. Lots of looking points, kids also loved it although wont admit to it

Nicely laid out reserve with rapidly declining old eucalypts and some amazing Antarctic Beech trees. Lovely groves of tree ferns. Gerrids in the creek. Frogs calling. Plenty of birds. Large trees have all lost their tops. Several have fallen/ been cut in the sinxe 2019. Good paths.

A beautiful rainforest which makes for great photos. It isn't a very long track - the given time of 30 minutes is quite accurate. There are seats along the way where you can sit and inhale the fresh air for a while.

Very easy and scenic walk. Beautiful ferns and moss. The Myrtle tree was stunning to see, three trees grown into one
