This train station ia handy to get in and out of the cities central shopping area. Can also use as an change over station for other trains or head up to ground level for trams and buses
Confusing layout. Filthy toilets.
Shopping of all kinds. The food courts are very culturally diverse and affordable. However the centre is a little dark.
Even 5 minutes standing on feet on the platform is hell after long hours of duty. Waiting for train 15-20 minutes often 30-60 minutes is really hell. There is inadequate facilities to sit properly. In fact, there is something to sit, but when you sit on them they just pulling you out and you have to stand up and sit again every minute. The steel work to sit is awesome, hopefully it is just for name keeping. Something is there to sit, but standing is better.
The men's toilets at the Elizabeth St end of this station are appalling. All the toilet bowls have no seating, and were disgustingly filthy when I visited on Tuesday evening this week. For a modern and charming city such as Melbourne, it's an embarrassment for these toilets to fall into such dis-repair and I'm ashamed to think of the many tourists (domestic or international) that would have to witness this. Shame on Metro for letting them get so bad.
Be careful on the escalators of death. Because its in the shopping centre half the people using the escalators don't understand "keep left unless overtaking" despite the signs. Filthy station. Kinda scary as well. not a nice place to be and I have no reassurance of any kind that if you were lower down during an emergency probably have no hope. Also there is only one big board for all the arrivals and departures and platforms so check before you go through the gates then you can follow signs to your line but you won't know how long the wait is.
