Slightly disappointed as we've been to better train museums. That being said it's still a great place to check out what Tasmanian train history has to offer and get on the diesel train ride for 15 adult. The staff were very friendly.

Kids loved it but it doesn't go very far. Cost us 40 for a family of 5 great value. Staff are also very friendly.
Fantastic attraction to visit, run by wonderful volunteers. Great for young and old
A quaint place to visit and learn about trains and see many restored engines and carriages. The train ride is short but scenic and my children loved it. Volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely to support and keep the historic railway going!
Short ride but first class (pun intended). They let my son sit on the foot plate for a photo which was a pretty rare treat at steam days. We had a great time.
Very disappointing. There are better railway museums. Went on the Easter Sunday. Absolutely very disappointing to see that the volunteers after a train trip were quite happy to stand on the platform for 23 minutes instead of quickly going through the train (5 minutes work at Max) to wipe surfaces and seats. They could have easily done this.
Came here for my train obsessed son. He was very happy, even happier that he found Thomas! Went on a little train ride. The volunteer Barry is such a lovely man!
Cheap family experience, not a super long train ride if you've got restless kids, clean amenities, awesome staff, who are super polite, full of information and great with kids! Plenty of nooks and crannies to explore in the yard. Can't recommend enough!
