Great place to visit to get a really good understanding of the snowy mountains scheme. We did it at the start of our trip, before exploring the area, so it helped us understand what we were seeing as we travelled through the region. Staff very helpful.

A must-visit if you're in the area. The audio-video presentation is well-executed with plenty of knowledgeable staff available to answer questions. A well-curated and cleanly presented museum section rounds-out the experience. Highly recommend.

Went to pass an hour or two not expecting much. We ended up in there for over three hours including coffee and cakes! The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. They provided info packs for the kids to work on - they had to find answers to questions about the Snowy Hydro system from the exhibits. There is a great ten minute film introducing the system and a separate half-hour historic film describing the construction of the scheme over a near forty year period. And the cakes were great! Highly recommended.

Very comprehensive info about history, engineering and future planning of this incredible hydro electric scheme. High quality pano view theatre, nice cafe and staffs. Truely worth a visit even with small kids.

There immersive centre and information on the dam and snowy hydro 2.0 great. Disappointing climate change information- sorely needs updating - temperature plot shows only to 2000 (showing the temperature decreasing at the end) no mention on water predictions going forward etc. More relevant science to match the engineering information needed!

I'm a bit of an information tragic and the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre feeds my tragedy. They have a neat film showing the history and development of the Snowy Hydro Scheme and its workers and families. The static exhibition gives a great overview of the Scheme's dams, tunnels and power stations. It also highlights the proposed Snowy 2.0 development. Let's all hope that Snowy 2.0 makes economic sense; it won't be cheap. The Centre also has a nice little café. I'm a sucker for a fresh sandwich. Have fun.

Great experience! Free entry, no need to book, includes a short self guided tour and a very interesting short movie. Staff is amazing too! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you stop by the discovery centre!
