Great place to I'm if you want somewhere that's not too busy. Just gonna say that the holds are a bit slippery haha

Great place for indoor rock climbing or if you're really serious, preparing for that next big climb outdoors. Great for kids too.

If you wish to get strong for outdoor climbing & bouldering then this is your place. The style Phil sets is quite unique in comparison to most gyms these days. Bias perhaps but I was a stronger and more rounded climber when I trained here often.

My favourite place to climb or boulder. Small but the super staff and excellent routes make up for it big time. Love this place ️

This is a very, very serious complaint in relation to one of your instructors at The Ledge Climbing Centre. My partner was verbally assaulted by one of your instructors, and her friend's life endangered tonight (22nd Jan at 7pm). The instructor was bald or shaved headed, Caucasian, and possibly in his 40s. On arrival, my partner and her friend (two females; little experience, one absolute beginner) were unable to get the "instructor's" guidance or attention. Nor were they able to/provided the mandatory release forms - a huge liability issue for your center and the university. They were left to work out themselves how to tie the crucial safety harnesses and hold the ropes with absolutely no training or guidance on the day, which could have lead to fatal accidents if done incorrectly. When my partner finally managed to get the instructor's attention (while having difficulty supporting her friend with the safety rope) and asked him very basic safety questions, she was violently yelled. This was done continuously to the point where she broke into tears (and she's not one to get emotional easily); all the while with complete disregard to her friend who was dangerously hanging from the wall. His immaturity was further obvious when she mentioned her arms felt weak/sore holding the rope in a position shown, only to be loudly yelled at again (rather than helped), and told he (a strong, large male) could hold the rope with his fingers. This was paramount to bullying or worse. To have paid for an experience, only to have been verbally assaulted and put their lives in danger is unacceptable. If this isn't promptly, openly, and appropriately addressed, we may be forced to formalize our complaint and take it further.

I've been going to the Ledge to boulder on a weekly basis for nearly a year now. I really enjoy the small and cosy atmosphere. I know it is definitively not the biggest gym, its boulder area is pretty small to be honest, but the staff - Probs to Phil ;) - changes the problems often enough that I never get bored. Possibly the biggest advantage, especially for students are the unbeatable prices! Keep up the good spirit :)

Long time no climb at this venerable climbing gym. The bouldering wall still delivers far more than you would expect from the space! And it’s a bargain to boot!
