George Popadalis & Umais Minai assured us that we could get through with ING. We asked them to double triple check everything and we were assured it would be all ok. We had moved to them instead of our family broker as they were so sure of their position and were offering great rates. After 3 weeks, however, we were declined. Initially there was little care on their end that we were declined and the standard answer was “sorry, we didn’t expect this to occur”. What was worse, however, was that they didn’t initially offer any realistic alternatives. Two alternates they did offer were also later discovered to be inappropriate and should they have been submitted, our credit scores would have been impacted for no reason. After some back and forth, a final option was presented but this was 3% variable and there was still no gaurentee it would be ok. We asked Wealthy You so many times to consider other banks. But because they were sure ING had rejected us because of our ‘debatably bad’ credit score, the dismissed all the majors and we were only being put to speciality higher interest banks. As our finance date was quickly approaching, and we had been fluffing around with Wealthy You for a month or so, we decided to look elsewhere. We then found Hunter Galloway. They turned the situation around in 1 week and got us a 4-year fixed rate of 1.94% with a major bank. Ultimately we were so glad that Wealthy You let us down, as it meant that we saved in the long run, however, the major stress caused and unprofessionalism has left a sour taste in our mouths and we would not recommend Wealthy You to anyone. We are so thankful and grateful that we found Hunter Galloway - we will be certainly using them again.
