Family Friendly History Tour On 3/10/17 my sister, nieces and I took the train to Guildford station and walked to the old Guildford Gaol. Cecilia , a volunteer member of the local Historical Society, welcomed us and took our group of four on a personal tour of the buildings. She engaged us all with the stories of the early settlement and answered our questions. We enjoyed looking at the artefacts in Taylor's Cottage (what a story!) and the wash house. Really good activity for everyone. Well worth the small admission charge of 5 Adults, 3 Children 5-15 years. The society is hoping to expand display to include their valuable collection of costumes.
