Told us it would be cheap, buggered everything they touched then held the boat to ransom to the tune of 40k! Has ruined our lives!!!
Mipec boat yard had a bad reputation and against advice from others, we decided to give them a go anyway. The haul-out went smoothly, extreme care to detail taken in wash down, staff are pleasant and helpful with many qualified tradies. The new boss Martin - approachable, unassuming, unflappable, is an absolute bonus, he comes with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in many areas and oversees all work. Our rudder repairs were done in a very timely and professional manner, we had a lot of 12v work done down south that was so sub-standard we had serious electrolysis for the first time ever (on our grp sailboat) and were devastated. We expected it was going to take much time and money to find the source, but this wasn't the case - Marty truly knows his stuff and it was all sorted in no time - fantastic. We have been to many boatyards around the world and this one is exceptional in their approach to their customers and workmanship - they are honest and respectful - mostly we feel because they have Martin running the place, he is so busy but nothing is too much effort, he will always find the time to address any concerns or issues. Our account was fair and reasonable too. BONUS! We feel, with Martin at the helm, Mipec's reputation will certainly change. THANKS AGAIN MARTIN!
