The whole process - from trying on dresses to collecting my gorgeous gown - was super smooth. The team at Wendy Makin Bridal Designs went above and beyond to ensure that every little detail on my dress was perfect for the big day, and it absolutely was. Steer clear if you're a plus sized bride. They absolutely ruined the dress experience for me at this "boutique". The fitter we had left my poor mum putting me in and out of the gowns, and doing up the dresses (she had no idea how to do the clips etc up), and she abandoned us for most of our appointment (we were NOT told prior to or at the appointment that our fitter could not help us due to COVID rules despite what excuses the business responded with) and seemed eager to leave as we were the last appointment for the day. This place came recommended and I was really excited but hands down it made me feel awful.
Wendy Makin was the last place I visited on my list of my must do bridal stores and I'm so glad I saved the best until last. From the very first appointment to picking up my gorgeous gown all of the staff were always kind and attentive and always communicated well any changes or if I had concerns (of which of course there were many wedding changes and concerns with COVID). And my gown - amazing! I didnt try on any other dress after I put on the Claudia as it was perfectly simple and elegant and everything I wanted. I absolutely loved wearing it and I wish I didnt have to take it off! Would highly recommend Wendy and the lovely staff at Wendy Makin Bridal Designs to anyone looking for a beautiful gown made to measure just for you.

I wanted simple but elegant and found the perfect dress at Wendy's studio - Watter's Coralie. It is a bridesmaid's dress but done in ivory it is just perfect as an understated but elegant wedding dress. And this prevented me spending an exhorbitant amount on a dress which is only worn once. I feel I can wear the Coralie in future as a formal dress without it looking out of place at all.
I brought my Willowby Galatea wedding dress to be altered at Wendy Makin Bridal Designs and had the pleasure of working with the very talented Marian. Marian was such a delight to work with and has amazing talent and knowledge around altering wedding dresses and accessorising to create the perfect look. Marian altered my dress by taking the petals and flowers from the bottom of the dress and adding it to cover my chest. I love my dress and am so thankful to have been recommended to use their altering services.
