My partner and I had big expectations after reading so many fantastic reviews of this tour. Sadly we were rather disappointed upon entering the sail boat to hear that it wasn’t a “green island and Great Barrier Reef sailing cruise”. Very falsely advertised on trip advisor. We had assumed when they advertise “Great Barrier Reef” that we actually went out deep into the reefs when realistically we just stopped out the front of Green Island and that’s where we stayed for the entire day. There was no ‘tour’ as such at all. If they’re not taking us to the Great Barrier Reef they should not have it in their title when they’re selling the packages. It’s misleading and a huge disappoint given we paid 220 each. Don’t waste your time with Green Island, would 100% recommend Fitzroy any day. More space and less overcrowded tourists spots. And for the “sailing” element, it’s all for show and a way to market the trip. No sail went up the whole way out and then on the way back they managed to put one up but kept the engine running the whole time...? What’s the point?

This has been the 5th time we have done the great barrier reef tour and the freedom was by far the best one so far. We have 3 kids and the treatment and care provided by all the staff was above and beyond. We snorkled for about 4 hours and we had a staff member with us at all times. Showing us all the fish and sometimes even picking up a sea cucumber and blue starfish, they showed us how clams close, and even the Christmas tree worm disappear. The Captain Perry even took us on a special trip to take photos (because my wife forgot to bring her camera the first time around). The small sand island was divine and the ability to swim in those waters was amazing. Definitely try it . It was the whole family's highlight of our Cairns trip xxx

Had a terrific day out to pinnacle reef and green island aboard the Ocean free. The crew were fantastic and the whole experience was quite warm and relaxed. We wanted to avoid large crowds of the big catamaran and chose this tour based on that. Very happy I did. The boat ride was great and we saw plenty of lovely sea critters on our snorkel session. We were even lucky enough to have two whales pop up right in front of us on the ride out to pinnacle reef. Didn't manage to get good pictures, was more concerned to see them. There was plenty of good food for lunch after the snorkel, then either more water time or a trip to the island. We went to the island and in hindsight I could take or leave it as green island was fairly touristy and packed with people. At the same time it's good to have the option to go to the island if you want, if not, keep snorkeling/diving. Most of the trip home was under sail and a great way to finish a great day.

Amazing tour lovely and friendly helpful crew! My first experience for snorkelling and it was wonderful. With frozen shoulder problem it was difficult to swim in the middle of ocean but the team specially Jaz made it possible

This was the most amazing experience of my life time the crew made all the normal boring thing so funny and enjoyable to listen to but at the same time you knew what you had to do and the time in the water was so enjoyable because of the amount of cool facts they give the food is enjoyable and the help that you get if not the strongest swimmer is fantastic highly recommended

I cannot speak highly enough of Ocean Freedom. the personal service was just another level. For eg. My wife cannot swim and she had a dedicated staff member taking her snorkelling for more than an hour. She had a life jacket as well as holding a floating ring that the instructor pulled, explaining everything that they saw. We had 13 people and 5 staff members taking care of us. Pascal the captain was funny and professional. Matt was the quiet achiever with heaps of knowledge and the girls, Rose, Jana and Sophie we incredible. I will be back. Thank you for the best day I could have dreamed of in Cairns
