Many thanks to the owner of Myrtle Tree Lodge- Flowers and the Kangaroo Valley Escapes team for their immediate and unquestioning refund of accommodation costs due to a late cancellation amid the fire concerns in the Shoalhaven area. We know that other holiday agencies are taking time to respond to cancellation requests.

The staff at KVE were responsive, and the property we booked from them was beautifully located, however it was not sufficiently cleaned, and lacking insulation suffered from an infestation of caterpillars which were able to get into the property by the dozens. We spent a large part of our stay removing them, & blocking their entry points into the house via the gaps between doors. We needed to relocate our kids to sleep in our room, as one of the rooms was just unusable. According to KVE this is all part of the country experience. We did manage to sit back and relax for a short while after a few hours of pest control...
