I went into the Hobart store on the 19th of Feb, and booked a job (paid half) for a kitchen/dining room and hallway. I was told that the job would happen mid-March, and that I'd be called on the 22nd of Feb to book a firm installation date; this call never occurred. Instead I had to call, on the Thursday morning, 25th of Feb, to chase down the firm installation date. I received a text message on the 26th of Feb stating that the job has been booked for the 17th of March. I received a phone-call on Tuesday the 16th of March that stated the product I'd ordered, and part paid for, had been delayed. The product wasn't expected to arrive until Wednesday/Thursday the 17th/18th of March. As such installation would now occur on Friday the 19th of March. Thursday the 18th of March, at 9:20am I received a phone call stating that there had been another delay. Now the product I'd ordered would not be in until the 1st of April, and installation would occur on the 12th of April. Your word is your bond, I'd been taught. There is no way that the shipping and arrival of the ordered product would move by 24 days unless the sales rep stuffed up the order, or has overextended the available installation staff. Additionally, I had turned down work for the Wednesday and Friday at significant financial loss to myself, in order to facilitate access to the property for installation. Choices was recommended to us as a reliable business, however, our experience has been the opposite. I would look at using a different flooring supplier/installer, and avoid Choices. They don't deliver in accordance with their word.
