Extremely bad customer service, Value for money is horrible. Trust me stay away from HIF

Didn’t know how bad they are until I switched to another provider. Anyone who thinks about join them should know HIF doesn’t have a claim team to answer your phone calls but only by emails, however when you join HIF they pick up their phone really quickly. Their benefit paid from claim is shocking compared with my current provider. Eg. for a filling, I paid 225 and HIF paid me 74.8 back. You do the maths - only 33% compared to my current 60%. I had to make 2 email claims to get HIF to pay for my last claim - imagine how difficult it is as they don’t tell you in their response why the 1st didn’t go through. I’m also extremely not happy about how reluctant they transfer my waiting period to my current provider- apparently 2 requests have been sent by my current provider and I had to call them to ask them send the certificate to me. So frustrating dealing with them. I would say think twice before you join them.
Didn't get money for Emergency Hospital Visit.. they said it isn't covered but in agreement written that it is covered. When I asked about the agreement they just ingnored my email. Stay away from them.
Went above and beyond on a particular scenario when technically they didn't have to and were within their rights not to. After what you hear about insurance companies I must admit I was quite surprised at their ruling. Was an easy process and everyone was friendly and easy to deal with. Can't fault them.
I've been with HIF for years and so far everything are going well. The online claim is easy to use and the customer service is very professional. Thank you HIF and keep the wonderful service.
They are not very much clear with their promotions. Customer is never right apparently.
I've been with them for 34 years. My old boy has been with them for 49 years. As a proud West Aussie family we chose HIF as our private health insurance fund because we support local people and organisations. My family and I just wish HIF would support us the way we have supported them especially in a potentially life threatening situation.
