Plantation homes used their appliances in my new house. The dishwasher was replaced after paying twice for a technician to come out. Even though it was faulty and needed replacement, they did not refund me the costs of calling out the technician. Now the stove which again had a glass screen replaced after it broke into pieces spontaneously is not working at all - now I need to call the technician out again. All in all I have now paid in excess of 400 to get a technician out to fix their faulty appliances within 2yrs. Would not recommend their appliances to anyone because of these hidden costs. Daniel
The post purchase cooking demonstration was very helpful in understanding the product. Jan was friendly and explained technical matters well. The handout on the various functions of the oven brought clarity to an otherwise confusing situation.
We bought an induction cooktop and paid a premium price for what we thought was good product. Two out of four induction hobs failed one after 2 1/2 year and one after 4. We were quoted 1800 for repair (more than the original price). Smegs attitude was you are out side of the 2 year warrantee so suck it up. I would expect more longevity than this for a suposed premium product. I am in the process of replacing with a cheaper and hopefully more reliable brand. Dont assume when buy Smeg that you are getting a reliable product. Very disappointed and Smeg could not have cared less
