Okay okay so my review is long overdue!!! Some 29 or longer years overdue!!! When I went to the the melbourne Zoo I take it it was in 1990! By that time, melbourne had just allowed Sunday trading hours via the city because in years before prior to that, there was never any trading on Sundays here! I was most likely 11 going to 12 years old. I remember being in Victoria Market with my mum eating an early lunch trying to convince to taking me there which she severely disagreed with (unfortunately she was right...). Traveled right from the stop adjust the market on either a Z2 or 3 class tram (No classy L class brown tram of old years before?!) and I was disappointed. All I remember that the animals were not interested and I didn't stay very either but I think I did go the The Royal Park element via school excursions years earlier and that was a blast I have to say especially those tree elevated platform paths as well. So this review is kinda neutral I guess. I hear that the tram route now goes through the equally more boring Docklands to get there?! Meh....So go there just once if need be.....

This place Worth 5 star rating as it provides natural habitat to so many animals, reptiles, birds etc be it lion, tiger, penguins snakes, elephants, giraffe, zebra, butterflies or monkeys. There is a variety of animals in the zoo and it's more fun with children. The entry ticket for an adult is 42 AUD. If you wanna enjoy to the fullest spare a complete day for this zoo because there is a lot of walking involved. Parents with small kids prefer prams with them. Do choose a day when it's not hot else animals don't come out in open.

In my initial review i gave them a 1 star for lack of sighting animals. But since getting a membership and visiting more frequently its been a great experience. My opinion: Dont visit when its too hot. I would suggest temputures bellow 25

Must see if you’re in town or even a local! This is my favorite zoo. So much so that I got married here. My wedding ceremony was wonderful back in 2014 thanks to the passionate staff at the zoo. Lots of different animals: elephants, big cats, reptiles and lots of peacocks walking about. In the spring time they have babies walking around too! Very kid friendly. Great for parties as they have different function rooms. You can also use the garden gazebos as well for cheaper kid parties. Money tips: Plan ahead as it’s quite big. A bit crowded on weekends which is expected. Bring your own food since the restaurants and cafes are outrageously expensive. It’s worth getting the membership if you’re likely to visit the other zoos as well.
