We paid 25Au for a 24 Bed Dorm. The mattresses are more uncomfortable than a camping airmatress and the kitchen has almost nothing. The are no forks and spoons!! The only spoon I found was the small plastic one... the only place to eat is outside because its forbidden in the lounge. But what are you supposed to do if it's starts raining? Well, the hostel gets cleaned very often which is good but I wouldn't recommend this hostel at all.

This is the worst hostel my friend and I had ever stayed at. Our beds weren't ready for four hours after we were due to check in at 2pm. Apparently they had over booked and then someone else had simply not left. The 24 bed dorm was a state with cables across the floor, no space for people to store belongings and dirty floors making your feet black if you dared go barefoot. The whole place smells and looks dirty and uncared for, meaning the people staying there don't feel they need to respect the place either. They only accept cash so can make money off the ATM that charges you to withdraw. The bathroom taps are all leaking - something which other reviewers have mentioned months ago and clearly nothing has been done. The kitchen has no spoons or any forms (also previously mentioned in other reviews) and just a tray of plastic knives. There are no cups at all, only one bowl - which was metal so couldn't be microwaved. All of the pots had no handles so couldn't use them. Some frying pans but all in really bad nick. It basically impossible to cook and eat a meal in there. Not sure what the free breakfast was, no one gave us any details about it. We found the beds ok and comfortable enough but I would not recommend staying here unless desperate.

It's ok, but it could improve. The upper kitchen does not have a stove, glasses or mugs. And the showers need maintenance, but it's clean and it works for a couple of nights. It didn't seem like a place to meet new people and make friends, but that was just my own experience.

Worst hostel in Melbourne. I've stayed here for 2 nights. Beds are super uncomfortable and shorter than 2m (attention tall people), kitchen is dirty and lacking cleaning equipment and cutlery, there was loud music all night long and their description on hostelworld is wrong. They dont have free parking, but instead you are sent you to find street parking, they dont accept credit cards, but have instead an atm, where you pay additional fees and wifi is not working reliably. I will not stay here again. Btw I believe only backpackers work there - no professional house keeping or manager... the good reviews come probably from people working there

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The overall vibe is very relaxed. Easy to sit outside, listen to music and enjoy a drink. The kitchen was good size however they lacked cutlery and the fridges were left in a messy condition. Bathroom was left without toilet paper a few times. Owner seemed very abrasive and difficult to talk to. For running a hospitality business I would expect customer service to be a little higher standard.

Collingwood plus hostel is in a great location next to the train station, vibrant Smith St where all the cafes, bars and cool vintage shops. It’s also close to hipster Fitzroy! The staff are lovely and accommodating. Cool place for travelers to stay!

Was going to stay here, asked to go to the bathroom and got a blatant no. The atmosphere made me feel incredibly unwelcome as when I walked in there was no greeting and just a what do you want. I just think sometimes it’s better to be kind than not. I just hope you that the staff learn kindness is always the best option.

Becareful of the manager "Tony", the "manager", he tries to charge you more. He'll tell you not to book via hostel websites and to book via reception instead so he can try make more money from you. TRUE STORY. Tried to rip me off AUD30 until I said I'll call consumer affairs. BE WARNED. Apart from that the place is great, nice and quiet.
