I had a lovely experience at Horseland with my daughter. My daughter had saved her money and was wanting to purchase some donations items to the RSPCA. Not only were the staff very helpful in suggesting what they would like, they also provided her with a good discount and were very encouraging of what she was doing. I went to horseland at Underwood which I believed is run by Horseland head office. I wanted to buy my daughter riding boots. My daughter and I stood in the shoe section near where another customer and a sales attendant were (1.5 m) and waited. The sales attendant ignored us completely, she did not greet us or acknowledge us in anyway which is just basic customer service. We ended up serving our selves. As I was looking for the boots, I could hear another staff member rummaging out of the back too. The sales attendant continued to ignore us she didn't call out to the other staff member to help out. She even ignored my daughter as she instructed the other customer to sit right next my daughter as she was trying on a boot I found. There was no social distancing practiced by the staff. When the sales attendant finally acknowledged us, she could not find the other boot to the one my daughter had on which had been on display. This boot was the only style of boot we wanted to try on. She said it had been lost. Rather than continue with this bad encounter, I elected to take my custom to Horseland at Ipswich which is a franchise. The staff there were wonderful, obliging and greeted everyone who entered their store even whilst they served my daughter and myself. I would have suspected with all the COVID 19 restrictions, high unemployment and the limited type of clientele (people who love horses) that staff off any Horseland business would need to to be encouraging customers.
