Both me and my partner have left the practice. I felt dr Malcolm McKay did not listen properly. He is more interested in talking about himself and his daily exercise then he is in listing to me the patient! Overall bad experience we have now found a lovely new practice in Port Melbourne.

Every time I come here I am waiting at least 30-40 minutes after the booking time. The fact this this occurs every single appointment simply means they are taking too many bookings each day. However, once you are able to get in and see the doctor, the quality of care is very high. The admin staff and doctors are helpful and personable. It would be a 5 star review if not for the long wait times.

GOOGLED MY COMPLAINT ON HER PHONE I’ve gone to this place a few times because it’s just across the road. I’ve had a few ok/perfunctory experiences there (apart from the 30-60 minute wait each time), where the doctors were nice enough and helpful for simple medical certificates/blood tests, but my most recent appointment not only made me not want to go back, but to urge others to be wary. I came in this morning with a scary condition (sudden onset balding, night sweats, head and neck aches) and desperately needed to see someone. I’d gone to bed to find a 3cm round bald patch (I’m female) and a friend who’s a nurse said to get in ASAP. I went in and saw Catherine McBride. She not only didn’t look at my head (staying 1-2 metres away at all times) but she GOOGLED ‘HAIR LOSS’ on WebMD on her phone and sat there silently scrolling while I was close to tears. She then said ‘try this cream’ and wrote me a script without telling me what the diagnosis might be. I asked if it was alopecia or something and asked about my other symptoms and she said ‘yeah, probably alopecia... and your other symptoms probably aren’t related...’ She had no compassion, curiosity or courtesy and I left feeling as perplexed as before, without any of my other symptoms acknowledged at all. This wasn’t a cough/cold. This is something scary and potentially serious (at the least embarrassing and physically demoralising) and she was negligent. Don’t know why she ‘practices medicine’ to be honest. Please be careful and find another place. A friend of mine had a harrowing experience with her too.

Dr Patrick O'Sullivan is the most thorough and committed Doctor I've ever had. He always takes the time to talk through the problem, check to cover all bases and explain everything to me. To be treated like a person and not a number by your health provider feels like a pretty rare thing, and Patrick provides that. Highly recommended. (note: it's worth getting an early appointment, as sometimes this attention to detail means the clinic is running a tad behind.)

Was misdiagnosed by a doctor and wrongly put on antibiotics.

I've seen Dr Patrick O'Sullivan for the past several years, and have never had a more considerate, educated, dedicated doctor. His committment to staying up to date with current research and prescribing techniques is commendable. He is often running late, so I'd recommend getting an appointment early in the day, but there's a reason for it - he's so thorough and takes the time to explain everything that he does. He's been incredibly supportive for mental health care, and has helped me through various complex physical diagnoses. As a woman, it's also especially gratifying to find a doctor who takes women's health seriously, and makes sure that I feel totally heard and supported at all times. He also recommends excellent specialists. I'm moving out of Melbourne, and one of the things I'm really sad about is not seeing Patrick - he's the best doctor I've ever had.

Got a text saying the doctor was running 15 mins behind but ended waiting over 70 minutes in reception. I understand that stuff happens, I’m just not sure you can allow such major delays without compensating people for their time. Pretty poor attitude from the receptionist as well, good customer service goes a long way in retaining customers. Won’t be returning.
