I took someone here who had acute methamphetamine poisoning and easy in psychosis as well as physically I'll. We waited hours to see someone in er. Doctors were good though and he was well treated. Referal to mental health unit was all down hill though. Went to be assessed and considering drug addiction is dual diagnosis with bipolar disorder was told that he seemed to be doing fine with family support and sent on his way. He has since had several more ovderdose/hospital er visits elsewhere and receives no treatment for bipolar. Is only alive because his family has given up everything to support/protect. Our mental health system is a world disgrace and the people who work in it are burnt out cynical and uninterested in clients. This treatment is across the board in brisbane. If you can't afford private care might as well not bother. The doctors generally are good but the only the ground staff are awful. Especially the rbwh. The care or lack of towards people with substance abuse problems and mental health issues is appalling. All in all it is a terrible experience when you are already suffering Where is the duty of care? Or better still common human decency Shame on you

I have had 2 friends close to me go to this hospital, 1 was tonight, 24 hours ago, took a very large concoction of medication and alcohol and after convincing that help is here, they class them as low-priority. They attempt suicide, have conditions that escalated their emotional state and still classed as low-level. I do not understand how this is considered as low-level. I will be making an official complaint to the minister and to the ombudsman and will not let this just drop. This is disgusting!

Unbelievable. I rang the number listed and was put through to the Robina hospital! Completely useless.
