Attended the zoo on a Saturday (school holidays too) as a group of 6 adults and had a blast. Paths and viewing areas are planned well, animals looked happy and we really enjoyed our day. Entry was easy, finding our way around the park was seamless and parking wasn't too bad. Would recommend to all ages

This Zoo is well organized with a number of different animals from Africa and some Asian regions. Although the aquarium is quite small but it was good enough to see some sea creatures in the same place. The place looks not crowded in the afternoon but parking lots are pretty busy and difficult to find spots in the mid morning. Definitely recommended!
Best zoo I've been to. A good variety of animals and great facilities. Food prices were reasonable or you bring your own. Very clean and tidy and staff were friendly.
One of the best zoos that I've visited in Australia. Large, sprawling zoo with a large number of rare and unusual species. The highlight for me were the white lions! Definitely worth the price of admission...
Awesome zoo, Came here from Sydney, To be presently surprised at how great this place is. The enclosures for the animals are amazing! We went on quite a hot day but hardly noticed as there is plenty of shade as you walk around. Very clean, the kids definitely loved it. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of going.
We had a great time at the Zoo and Aquarium! Animals look well cared for and happy. Great viewing spots at the enclosures. The meerkats are always a favourite and the giraffes are wonderful to view in two enclosures. Great coffee at the entrance cafe. And plenty of great places to rest along the way. We brought our own lunch and sat at a table and watched the birds. Can't recommend it enough. (Recommend between 5-6 hours for a complete relaxed circuit to see everything)
This zoo is a treasure in Canberra. While most Australian cities have zoos, this one has a level of intimacy and maturity to it that is rarely replicated elsewhere in the country. There are rare and exotic species from all over the world, and it is evident that there is very good care taken to ensure that all the occupants and residents are healthy and in good spirits. The older, original portion of the zoo has the “lion’s share” of animal types, and you can see a lot while traveling a relatively short distance. Sometimes the pathways are a bit confusing here, and you might find yourself at a dead end here and there, but all in all it’s pretty great. The recent expansion area however, is simply stunning, and enables visitors to see animals in huge enclosures! It’s super quiet too in many places, and I have worked on my computer many times while just sitting on a bench in front of some giraffes or cheetahs, and have hardly been disturbed by the comings and going’s of people elsewhere. It’s a great escape for an afternoon! Calling itself a zoo AND aquarium is a bit of a misnomer, the Aquarium is just a single room with some large fish tanks, and can easily be missed or forgotten, but all in all, it is a good experience that should not be ignored in a visit to or around Canberra.
Good family day out. Plenty of animals to see, with minimal effort in spotting them. The little one had an awesome day.
