I love Stripes. For the six months I spent in Townsville it was my most regular haunt. The coffee is excellent, the view of Castle Hill from the seats out front is superb, and the owner, Holly, is a sweetheart who always made me feel welcome even when I occupied prime real estate for an hour a day writing in my journal. Power to you Holly! Long live Stripes! I’ll miss it.

When a Melbournian, lover of Coffee and well-traveled local guide called into Townsville I was keen to taste some of the best brews in NQ. Starting with the 2018 NQ Coffee reviews in the Townsville Bulletin “Stripes” seemed like a place to visit in Townsville. The Facebook site, pictures and reviews were upbeat. I also heard about “Holly” the new owner and saw a great article in the Bulletin about her move from Mt Isa and her passion for quality coffee and for providing good service. Good coffee, great service, a dedicated Barista, a groovy décor and a suburb just right for West End Boys and West End Girls (OK - showing my age and love of the the music by the Pet Shop Boys). You should definitely add this to your café crawl in NQ.

Best coffee in town!
Myself and a friend dropped into Stripes for a 'taste test' to see if the coffee that this establishment produced for the general public was up to the high standards of which I had heard it was. Very obviously, although Stripes is only a small coffee shop. The dedication that is shown to the customers and the extremely high quality of what is placed on the table in front of you. I can honestly say, is absolutely second to none. Well done. Stripes Coffee definitely gets a well deserved big thumbs up from myself. I can't wait to have another visit.
Very nice coffee and staff. There is also a selection of snacks like muffins, toasties and banana bread etc.
