I have been attending high level French classes at WEA for many years. I understand that during Covid there was no alternative to doing classes online. However the new catalogue for Term 1 20210 states that all French language classes (except beginners) will continue on Zoom . This is extremely disappointing. There is no substitute for face to face interaction especially in language learning. I am sick of Zoom including its inevitable technical difficulties. Annette

WEA courses are always interesting and the topics to choose from varied and wide. Over the years that I have participated in WEA courses I have found them to be relevant and up to my expectation.. I consider them value for my money and my time especially the courses for seniors trying to update their IT skills. The instructor/tutor is patient and giving of their time and energy. I also recommend WEA courses as a means of becoming acquainted with like minded students for your particular interests and skills. Now in retirement I look forward to my next round of courses and lectures.
I have been dipping into many courses over the past few years. The history classes especially are always brilliant, given by friendly and highly knowledgeable tutors. Their arts courses are equally as good, as indeed are the language sessions I have attended. The list of courses available is amazing, and there is quite literally something for everyone. Keep up the great work
I did two courses to try it out and both were an absolute pleasure. It's such a great list of programs I can't wait to try out more. I've missed learning and it's nice to be able to stretch my skills without having to commit all my spare time to do it.
WEA is a marvellous educational institution - I know this after attending a wide variety of courses over many years (history, language, practical arts, music, travel, etc, etc). The tutors are well equipped to offer stimulating and informative courses, and the infrastructure of WEA works very well. WEA is also exceptionally easy to access by public transport. I hope that I'll be participating for many many more years to come.
In an age where life-long learning is becoming essential to keep up with technical change, WEA is one of the few places in Sydney, outside formal university courses, where adults can enrol in a wide spectrum of work related or recreational courses. Class numbers are modest, as are fees. It gives me so much to look forward to each week!
I have been attending WEA for many years and it always offers couses to enrich my life. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the courses I have chosen about religion, philosophy, ancient and modern history and literature. It always inspires me to research more on each subject and I look forward to each meeting. I also meet so many clever and erudite people in the audience to enhance the whole experience.
WEA offers a wide selection of courses for Adult Education covering most of the humanities (Literature, Art, Music, Philosophy, Politics and History) as well as more practical courses relating to a broad range of Languages, Drawing, Painting and Music. It has become the best provider of Adult Education in Sydney with many talented tutors.
