I am actually shocked that such a beautiful and popular place hasn’t got many reviews and also since its extremely well known Annual Open Day attracts 1000’s of Canberrans and also growing out of state visitors to enjoy what is affectionately known as ‘Apple Day’. I am here to reap praise where praise is due … This year in April saw the 27th Annual Open Day (Apple Day) where Loriendale opened up its doors and put on a magnificent event where the public ventured into the gorgeous natural beauty of the Orchard and enjoyed a relaxing atmosphere. As their website states: Select from the varieties of international and Australian apples and pears. Buy organic produce from local producer stalls: farm vegetables, dried fruit, toffee apples and honey. Watch the pressing of fresh apple juice on the wooden apple press - C19th styled machine. Enjoy a range of organic foods - crepes served with Loriendale apple sauce and Devonshire teas served with delicious scones, muffins or cakes. Stroll through the orchard, complete with free range bantam hens foraging among the trees. Relaxing background music provided by local musicians and choirs. The ever amazing Wagonga Coffee was also there churning out its usual 10/10 coffees and my kids enjoyed making their own cards with little apple trees on them. I do have to rave about the Ya Li Chinese Pears that are so incredibly creamy and juicy plus I thought it was very fitting to buy some Mustu apples AKA Crispin Apples (see my surname!!) Large, pale yellowish-green apples with a firm and juicy creamy-white flesh and pleasant sweet flavour with subtle hints of spice, an excellent keeper. Yep .. that sounds like me! HA! See you at Apple day 2018 !!!!
Went along to the 2018 Apple Day at the orchard. Had a great time! There were plenty of different apple themed stalls here, selling all sorts of goodness like toffee apples, apple cider, crepes with apple sauce, apple juice. Everything was surprisingly reasonably priced. Amazing turn out - must've been around a thousand people there in total and it gave it a fantastic vibe.
Just called to ask if they were open!! I got the rudest reply and the man hung up on me..
Loved Apple day! A fantastic event for all ages.
Yearly Apple festival is well worth the drive from Canberra. Lots for young kids to do.
Once a year this place is magical
