If It was possible to give them 0 I would. The worst association I have ever dealt with, absolutely no customer service, no understanding or care for members. Every year we renew via email and every year they send letters saying our membership is going to get cancelled because we haven't sent the paperwork, we show proof of the email sent and they don't even bother apologising for their mistake. That is just one of the many things wrong with them. The government should investigate them, as they are the worst and if it was possible to get one's building licence from another association NO ONE WOULD USE THEM!!!!

The Worst organisation In the World. As new migrant , I just bought a new home & the builder not fixing the defects . I become exhausted to deal with builder. This organisation giving free builder licence to everyone . Extremely poor quality building work everywhere. It's a hell situation here......

Looking at two building notices on my property, one of which is to the tune of 1m dollars - our owners cannot weather this. Our only option is to sue which will be long winded, expensive and no guarantee of success. How come the regulatory body hasn't prevented this from happening to innocent owners. This is causing monumental emotional and financial strain and wrecking people's lives through no fault of their own. Building confidence - ha ha ha
I'm quite disappointed that again I have received no communication on what the status / outcome of my complaints are in regards to a construction that is happening next door in Jesse Street, Glen Iris. The builder has resumed construction after their second 'Stop Work Order', but once again I get no advice back from the authorities. The interests of the builder and the building surveyor appear to be put to the forefront, rather than the interests of the adjoining owner who almost had their property significantly devalued from the deliberate attempts by these parties to not comply with various building regulations. The second 'Stop Work Order' came about as there was an attempt to not comply with all regulations, including attempting to better hide some of this non-compliance (ie Reg 76A). UPDATE: OMG I just checked a recent extract of a plan that I received from the builder. They have deliberately reduced a number of measurements, to hide the non-compliance. WHY IS NO ONE DOING ANYTHING?
The worst regulator in Victoria. Advertises that its mission is to work with other agencies and regulators to ensure building and plumbing practitioners are compliant and that consumers are protected. Yet doing the opposite. It seems the department is designed to protect corruption and incompetence in the building industry. Ibac ( independent board based anti corruption commission) report it self states that VBA systems are the worst after VICROAD. VBA has the highest risk factor for corruption. It seems board is quite happy as long as their pockets are getting full of money. I wish we could give negative stars. I am shocked with the incompetence of this department.
AN ABSOLUTE CIRCUS. JUST BEEN WAITING IN HOLD FOR 88minutes and they can’t take my call. I HAVE MET HUNDREDS OF PLUMBERS AND THEY ALL SAY THE SAME THING ABOUT THE VBA - ‘CLUELESS!’
Completely useless organisation!! Set up only for the benefit of builders and would go as far as saying they even protect dodgy builders as long as they get their annual registration fees from them. They refuse to do absolutely anything about a particular dodgy builder that has taken building deposits from clients with FAKE DBI policy details because they are blocked from being able to take any DBI insurace and will not give clients back there money, they also refuse to help other clients who were completely unaware that the builder continued on with the build to the last stage without getting mandatory stage checks by the building surveyor & other desperate clients who they took payment off ahead of works because they were desperate to have there house finished after 3 long years and were refused site inspections by the builder for the builder then to completely leave multiple houses stranded for a year plus without fnishing them. All up there are over 12 people affected and possibly up to 50 in one way or another affected by this builder and still the VBA refuse to do absolutely anything about this builder!! Absolutely apalling and complete lack of empathy!! Issues have been raised for almost 2 years and still nothing, they are still registered and allowed to continue conning other innocent victims. This builder is also notorious for not paying trades & suppliers and has multiple court cases against them. Multiple red flags just not enough for the VBA??
