The most underrated station on the Hunter Line. Victoria Street (East Maitland's main station) serves trains on the Hunter Line really well. However, it really needs electrification and with the NIF D Sets being rolled out, it also needs a frequent direct services to Sydney Terminal without having to change at Hamilton all the time.

New stairs, plus elevators both sides of station. Bright &well lighted. Chair friendly. I am going to try out lifts soon..
Despite the naming conventions, Victoria Street is East Maitland's main station. Convenient for the main shops and not too far a walk from Stockland Green Hills.
Good, clean station. Station is easily accessible. Close to public transport options and all the good stuff. Announcement speakers can be a little misleading sometimes.
The new facelift and improved access have really been implemented well. Im impressed with the modernisation that still retained enough originals to preserve the historic station. There are lifts for both sides, 2 Platforms with a machine for Opal top-ups, Opal balance and single trip tickets accepting cash (*except 0.05) and cards, Telstra payphone (inc. Telstra air ), LCD screens displaying next trains and related information, the lighting makes it feel safe at night and the whole uplift is visually appealing and interesting architecture makes for a good conversation starter.
Be amazing once renovations are complete
It was an interesting project with a lot of challenges
The male station master is a complete moron.
