This is my first time visiting Dapur Van Java. I am impressed with a number of things. 1. Food portion: generous and I felt full compared with other Indonesian restaurant (always have stigma that Indonesian restaurant always gives small amount of food for higher price). I would give this 4 out of 5 stars. 5 stars if the food comes with a bit more of salad and more generous portion that makes me full. 2. Service: good service and most of my issue was taken care of on the spot. I would give this 5 out of 5 stars. However, there is also something that you need to pay attention to. 1. Cleanliness: when I got spoon and fork, the fork was not very clean (there is a solid rice that has dried, stuck in between the fork). Luckily I spot this out. 2. Atmosphere: generally I like the atmosphere, but there are so many flies flying around in the area. But I would say it's minor, I am hoping this can be addressed too. In general, if I am asked to come over again, I will definitely come again. Thank you :)

Awesome little Indonesian food spot! You would blink and miss it if not for the queue Food is tasty and authentic, and felt very much like a Malaysian restaurant in KL Good choice of options and generous servings. Should be a go to option for Malay/Indonesian food lovers

One of the best Javanese places we have ever tried. The beef lung is phenomenal (think pork crackle and you'll be fine ). Their beef ribs are to die for: moist, falling off the bone and flavourful. Their peanut sauce is so flavourful as is their sambal. We could not fault anything with amazing serving sizes. We ordered from door dash and everything arrived hot (perfectly packed). Seriously get yourself some traditional and delicious food!

First time been here to try out the food. I was so excited. Order a few dishes for lunch with my very young toddler. Nasi goreng was good. But the chicken satay is undercooked the meat is still raw inside and we already had some. I was very disappointed and let them know. Good service they refunded for that. Toilet needs clean too. It's very dirty. It's very sad to see this. I hope that this can be a good feedback going forward to improve. Thank you for friendly service today :)

Ordered and delivered to our home. Driving time was approximately 20minutes. We were surprised that it was still hot and the flavours were phenomenal. They were generous with their serving. Very delighted with this find.

Highly recommended, discovered it tucked away in the back street of East Vic Park. Authentic Indonesian food, tasted like what we had in Bali which we were missing. We had Nasi Goreng Seafood, Ayam Geprek (boneless chicken thigh fried with chilli recipe, served with rice), and Batagor Kacang (fried wonton, fishcake & tofu assortment glazed with savoury peanut sauce). Nasi Goreng had wok hei and could taste kecap manis in a way that was subtle and non-overpowering. Ayam Geprek was my favourite, however be warned that it is EXTREMELY spicy (we got level 1 and it was still burning our tongues, and I am used to eating spicy food growing up in Singapore). Batagor Kacang was delicious and so flavourful, although the peanut sauce can get a tad rich, so have plenty of water to quench your thirst. Prices very reasonable. Service was warm & friendly. I'm hooked!!!

I've heard about Dapur Van Java echoing away ever since a co-worker of mine mentioned it to me. So I've decided to make my journey to Victoria park where the restaurant is. Dapur Van Java the name had already indicated this is an Indonesian restaurant. We arrived at 7 pm, and we didn't make a reservation, the restaurant is full, but we found a spot in the restaurant. You can make a reservation to get a table inside the restaurant. We were given the menu at the counter. The dishes that we ordered are, Pempek- Indonesian Fish cake served with sweet tamarind sauce as an entree. This dish is delicious, especially the sweet tamarind sauce that enhanced the fish cake flavours, and inside the fish cake, there is an egg as well. As for mains, we ordered Ayam Bakar Komplit - Grilled chicken, tempeh, tofu, rice and sambal. I loved the sambal, it's incredibly spicy, and when you have it with the grilled chicken, it tasted like spice heaven. The other dish that I've ordered is Ikan Bakar Bumbu Bali. Grilled Fish fillet, marinated in Balinese spices, served with rice, sambal matah, veggies & tofu in peanut sauce when you can't go to Bali, the Balinese style grill fish that brings you back to Bali with the strong lemongrass taste on point. The dishes are reasonably priced. I will return and try their other dishes!
