Thank you to Dr Sam at VRH, he performed spinal surgery on our pet bobby and I cannot express enough how skilled, experienced and wonderful he is at saving a pet. Thank you to the nurses and client services, although I only did catch the name of Helen who kept a calm head during a period of great stress for our family. To the nurses, vets and other support staff who cared for bobby when he was scared and away from home, if he could speak he would be grateful for the kindness you all have shown him. It can be a very hard thing to put your trust in those that are unfamiliar to you however if you are looking for a great team of experienced professionals during a time of need for your pets, VRH is a great place to visit.

Brought our cat in late last night in a bit of a panic. The staff were very empathetic and patient, and took great care of our fur baby. The cost was very reasonable, as far as 24 hour emergency places go. It’s a relief knowing we have some place good to turn next time we need out of hours vet help. It was a long night but Basil definitely seems to be on the mend today!

The vet surgeon Cameron helped us with our little cat who was hit by a car. In the end we needed to put him to sleep, but the surgeon was very nice and tried everything and explained everything. I also liked how he helped us make the decision by giving us an understanding of the costs, the treatments and the prospective outcome which he said wouldn't be good so we knew that it wasn't worth it for our boys quality of life. That is the type of advice that experience lets you provide as other vets haven't demonstrated this understanding on counselling owners on what is the right thing. It is expensive to have imaging and anaesthetic (into the thousands) so please insure your pets and keep them safe. We miss our boy very badly but are very happy with how good VRH and the surgeon was in trying to save him.

Excellent & very caring, nurses are really nice and caring, surgeons are absolutely fantastic. I don't know what I would do without this place, they operated on and saved my dog twice. If I could give 100 stars, I would.

Danger!! Never go to this hospital. Warning!! Left my beautiful female dog under 4 years old there overnight and they left her unattended, untreated for 10 hours and they forced me to euthanise her by denying her life saving treatments in the last 6 hours of her life!!! They just left her there overnight without contacting me that her condition was deteriorating. Yet they charged over 4k in 24hrs, did nothing to try save her and are now trying to wash their hands of this tragedy and show absolutely no accountability or empathy. I have all the clinical notes, I have the proof this is just negligence on their part. Have spoken to medical doctors and other veterinary professionals and they all agree something is very wrong with this case. I spoke to their head Vet who manages both Victoria and South Australia and he couldn’t tell me why she died!! Now they are trying to cover up this disgusting mess with lies, diversions and obfuscations. Shouldn’t be allowed to practice Veterinary Care at all, let alone be called an emergency 24/7 hospital. Whatever you do just Google the nearest other emergency hospital - go there! It can’t possibly be worse or less accountable or less professional than this joke of a hospital. Something needs to be done about this place!! Many more animals will suffer and die there. Reports need to be made to law enforcement, the Vet Board, all media and newspapers if something similar has happened to your beloved pet. They have to be stopped now. This can’t be allowed to happen in Australia 2021. Everyone I have told this story to in honest detail is just absolutely horrified and shocked.

Not a very nice experience, I did appreciate the honesty but if you bring any injured wildlife DON'T because they won't have any carers available and they will just put it to sleep. I have already reported the animal to Wildlife Victoria before coming here so our first experience was not very helpful, but like I said I appreciate the honesty the staff member let me know what they do to it, but this one was a baby and still had a fighting chance, so in my opinion it's the wrong message to give to wildlife. But next time if I come back again and that's an if I do, I may change my experience if it's different. Normally 1 star I would give it but 2 for now because for the honesty the staff mentioned to me on way they do to them.
