Urban Edge has been a great experience. I had initially enrolled the boys to the Rock and Water childrens program. The class size, welcoming nature and skill of Jesse the instructor meant that they learn and enjoy at the same time. They have also had fun on the full day school holiday programs. I then enrolled in the adults jujitsu class. From starting as an absolute beginner the team, culture and instruction has been awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to start in martial arts.

My wife and I have been to the kick boxing classes with Jesse and they're really well run and welcoming for newbies like us. In addition we've been having personal training sessions with Victoria for the last 4 months. The personal training is producing great results for both of us (fitness and weight loss) and Vic certainly knows her stuff and keeps the sessions fresh and interesting. We would recommend the classes and personal training sessions to anyone.

Jesse, Victoria and all the instructors take personal interest in all the members which makes this team stand out from the rest. You feel part of a family and the other members around you accept you as a beginner right through the to an expert. The training is first class and the fitness comes while you are enjoying learning something new!

My three boys attend pebbles (4-7 yo) and rocks (7-12). The teaching is a standout feature of Rock and Waterr Martial Arts. Jesse has a fantastic way of communicating with children, and puts a lot of effort into balancing the program between important aspects of the ethos of the club. I know my children will be better people in a few aspects of their lives for having attended and committed to it.

If you want to improve your fitness and enjoy developing skills and techniques, then this is the place to go. The kickboxing classes are a great work out, are fun and interesting and the people training are really welcoming to new starters. Boxercise is boring. Other martial arts are full of tedious traditions. This is one of the few workouts I look forward to.

I have been training at Urban Edge for a couple of years now. Great bunch of people, everyone is at different ages and stages, and willing to help. The kickboxing classes are a great mix of high intensity cardio and technical instruction. The BJJ classes are very well structured and easy to pick up. A great place to train.

Major fan of this martial arts teacher and his team. Three reasons: - Jesse teaches the class each week (no rotating teachers like some martial arts in the area) - small class size - great with special needs (have a child with autism, the guys at sweatbox aren't easily rattled). Thoroughly recommend Jesse and the team at sweatbox.

I didn't want a crazy boot-camp-style personal trainer. I'm too old to have a wannabe Marine shouting in my face in the rain, so I couldn't be happier to have lucked into Urban Edge. So far I've lost 10kgs with another 5kgs to go. I've learned an enormous amount about keeping it off thanks to the personal training I received from Victoria. She's taught me as much about diet as exercise, which has been helpful because I turned out to be kidding myself about food in a big way. Of course losing weight is ultimately about eating less energy than you expend, but it turns out there's an easy way and a hard way to get that right. Victoria will show you the "easy" way, just don't trust her counting -- best to count your own reps or you'll find she's trying to squeeze in a couple more.
