This hidden spot has been a favourite for a few years. You will love tranquility. There's nothing around for miles. It's not usually crowded but the trick is to visit during the week to experience pure tranquillity with the place to yourself. The water is pristine and flowing. The sand banks and depth of water can vary depending on recent rainfall. There are basic toilets and wash facilities in the campground. If you've not booked a camping spot, you won't have vehicle access to the campground. But you can still walk to the toilet block from the gate. There is a parking area for day trippers. A short 100m walk down a bush path will take you to the sandy bank. Remember to bring a plastic bag to put your rubbish with you. I don't have mobile reception when I spend time at Upper Colo Reserve. That's not all a bad thing.

Excellent place for kids who love water. Very shallow river is perfect for all ages. Even when temperature is 40C, you don't feel any heat near the river. Not enough shade around the river though

Went up a couple of weeks ago, had a fantastic time. Lots of water in the river and was warm at around 30 degrees. Rangers were thorough in mowing, bins, and cleaning toilets. Facilities were great, although, all the bathroom drains overflowed on our last day. Easy to imagine given how busy it was during school holidays. Highlight of the 3 days was finding a koala up a tree some 50m from our site - just up the hill near the gravel road. We tracked him down by listening to his mating calls. Kid was tickled pink! We'll be back!! Thanks to Hawkesbury Council for making it such a nice place.

Went during weekday, so it wasn't very packed and we setup at a quiet corner, with some trees nearby to tie setup a hammock. Can still hear music from another campsite further away. A short stroll to the river from our campsite. Multiple campfire remnants around. No mobile reception around the area. Bring your own drinking water. Decent cold shower & toilets, brightly lighted even at night. Electrical BBQ with shelter, shade and benches. No washing or gray water disposal facilities. Un-tarred road for most of the way once you branch out from the main road. Nearest shops are at Wilberforce, around 30-40 minutes away.

Due to Covid, it is not permitted to enter camping site. So you can't use toilet block. Very limited parking. But good river views, once you walk about 20m.

Great weekend camping spot with close proximity to the river where the water is crystal clear. There are also lots of places to have camp fires. Pack the bug spray though...

Good camping experience.. River was dead as not much rain in the area .. Toilets can be cleaned better but can't complain ..
