On Monday I went to Tradelink and spoke to Barry about ordering some mixer taps. He didn't have the right ones in stock, and said he would have them in the following day. I said that I would be in early Thursday and he told me i could pick them up from the trade desk. I arrived on Thursday, and the helpful man behind the desk had no idea about the order. He called Barry for me, and Barry said that he was on his way shortly from the other store with the taps and I could get them the following day (Friday). I again arrived on Friday morning, and spoke to a second man in the trade area, who again had no idea about the order, and said that Barry in fact hadn't been at the Browns Plains store at all on Thursday. He once again called Barry, who once again said he was on his way from the other store with the taps. Fortunately I hadn't paid any deposit, and I told them where Barry could stick his tapware. I refuse to deal with a company that employs someone who continually lies to cover up their obvious incompetence. It was obvious from the expression on the faces of the guys at the trade desk that Barry was habitually making these kinds of mistakes for other customers too. For any potential customers of Tradelink: Don't be a 'Barry' and take your business somewhere that values your trade, and honours their commitment.
