This is kind of the "halfway point" if you're doing the most direct walking path from the bottom to the top. There's a simple shack nearby to get some basic snacks, use the restroom, or just catch your breath and reapply some sunscreen. The actual viewpoint is great, and I was stunned when I had the place to myself for about 10 minutes; and even when I left there were no signs of anyone else coming here.

Pristine Forrest walk... Amble through the Mt Wellington trails.... Moderate to hard... But we'll worth it.
Its a great place when it's summer but the charm of winter takes the breath away.
Honestly the worst part is that you can drive up and go. As an avid hiker this brought my experience hiking to the top down a lot.
