Really nice restaurant with delicate decor and reasonable price. We ordered 2 café, 1 hot cake and 1 vegetarian breakfast. The food are beautiful and taste good. The staffs are friendly as well. Just feel one is over friendly asking us a little bit private questions like which visa we have , are we students or residents, what’s kind of job we do for living...which we feel too many information in our chat.

My husband and I love having breakfast here!! The meals are generous and the service always friendly and welcoming!! The staff even remember our favourite table, even when we haven't visited in a while. It's the little things that make this place special!

Service here was really good. I came here for hotcake by the photos shown on the website, not impressive, and was also average, but a big serve, I was so full with my strawberry hotcake. Don’t order too many as they don’t offer take away serviceEnvironment was nice in this heritage style building. Btw, the entrance is on the George street (intersection of the George Street and Charlotte street)
Terrible service. We waited over 30 minutes to even be given a menu by the wait staff. No eye contact or acknowledgement of our presence. Customers that arrived a significant time after us were served before us and were subsequently eating their meals while we waited to be given service. Poor treatment for what is apparently meant to be a fine dining experience.
The service was excellent. Staff were so polite and helpful. We had not booked our high tea for two beforehand. The staff were only too happy to accomodate us. The food was delicious and plentiful and the cakes decadent. All in all it was a delightful experience. I will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.
Beautiful old building and furnishings. A group of friends had Chandon High Tea at The Lab. 65 each for 2 hours. Selection of finger sandwiches, scones, pastries, slices and mousses beautifully presented and served to each person. Coffee, tea, Brut, Rose or Shiraz. Water on the table on arrival and glass refreshed as required. Service was very good. Room temp was a little too hot for me but others in group were comfortable. Only downside was that I found it noisy and hard to hear.
I love a hearty breakfast that uses fresh local produce & cooked with honest to goodness love & pride...that's exactly what I got!! And to top it off, a great cuppa & service with a genuine smile!! You couldn't ask for more!! Thank you Chef Hiro & the wonderful staff!! Great coffee and great food. All the usual breakfast foods plus some interesting Asian additions
