It is a little average, especially for the price. The cumin lamb used to be my favorite dish, but now the slices are thick, saucy, and rubbery instead of that classic thin, dry-fried style with a lot of punch. Not worth the price tag unfortunately.

Been here recently, the food was fresh and serve was quick. We were seated in accordance with Covid-19 arrangements with a curtain separating our table from the others (maybe a previous set up but did not mind it). We were a group so tasted a few dishes, my favourites were the fried rice and Dan Dan noodles (the broth was so flavourful ) . With a pot full of hot jasmine tea we thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes from dumplings to the mains.
I love the fact that this place is so close to work, the food is delicious, service quick and food yummylicious. Every small celebration when I’m in town means visiting this cozy little eatery.
My favourite place for Shanghai style food, I’m a regular, great service and classic food.
This is my place to go when I want a quick Chinese bite. The food they offer is good and taste and it comes in generous portions. There can be a bit of wait but usually you can get a sit in 5/10 minutes. The menu variety is big so the best is to order a few dishes to share with your table. The staff is ok and the prices are pretty good for what you get!
Best Chinese food I’ve ever tried. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Price was affordable. Will come back when I go to Sydney
Been here and its sister branch in Eastwood more than a couple of times. I've got to say the flavours have really been slipping. Perhaps I'm just not fond anymore of the relatively unharmonious combination of flavours that Shanghainese cooking is known for. I find myself being disappointed at each dish, just mentally noting "If only this had some more kick" or "A dash of zhejiang vinegar would've been amazing with this". Maybe its the exposure to more varied cuisines in Sydney and you really start to notice the extra grease and lack of flavour in dishes from establishments like Taste of Shanghai. I think their success has made them complacent in pushing the boundaries of their craft and now just making and remaking old reliable favourites.
The dumpling are really good here and the seafood is always perfectly cooked.
