Nice lane way restaurant, probably popular with business crowd. Nice BBQ sets, and plenty of traditional Japanese food.

One of my favorite Japanese BBQ restaurants where I sometimes have lunch. Very yummy tasty good quality food but service could be improved.
Apologies for the empty plates but the food is amazing. The benefits of coming to a place like this where you don’t have to wait in line for the buffet your order is served at a touch of button using a digital pad. I could not fault the quality of the food the service was good and friendly. The suction of the vents don’t leave you with a bad smell once you leave like others bbq joints. If you enjoy bbq highly recommend this place and it is priced very fairly!
Lovely interior with plenty of good all you can eat BBQ dishes on offer with some great ice cream to finish it all off. Beef, seafood and pork were all fantastic and I may have eaten too much but I don't regret it! Definitely recommend!
Japanese always is a great idea ... nice cosy place .. out of the way a bit !! But worth trying ..
A Fascinating Japanese restaurant where you have a burner and a grill on which you cook your own food in front of you. You can tell a good restaurant when it is full of people who come from that area of the world!!! Nothing about the freshest of freshest meat veggies and produce, comes in smaller than you'd imagine parcels, But you find out why as you get more variety, work out your favourites & order more!!! Well worth a visit Hidden down behind Martin Place past Adina Apartments... Only of course only the locals know it and we wouldn't know about it unless we were told by Adina!!
Quick service food was OK Curry beef has way too much fat ! Left most of it, but the curry sauce was nice. Teriyaki chicken a bit a Fatty also
Very disappointed in their service and will never return back. I've always loved Suminoya and have been having coming here through the past 10 years. However, last week I was so appalled by their service. I initially made a booking for dinner for my husband and his family to celebrate his birthday. Upon checking in, the staff told us they did not receive a confirmation from us on the day to say we were coming, hence deducted 450 of cancellation from our credit card, assuming we will not be showing up. Reading their cancellation policy online, it states they will only charge a cancellation should they receive a formal cancellation either via phone or sms and require 24 hours notice or you will incur a cancellation fee (at no point did I make a call or send a sms to cancel my booking). The staff who told us about the charge was so adamant that they did not do anything wrong and was very rude in his approach. He even accused me for inputting my mobile number on the system incorrectly and was showing me the mobile number I supposedly inputted on the system (which they only hand written this number on a book- which most likely was a human error on their end). Given it was my husband's birthday I did not escalate the issue. But I will not be returning back and will be sharing this poor experience to my family and friends.
