Sheridan Kennedy's jewellery is founded on 25 years of designing artistic jewellery for clients in Australia and around the world. She now specialises in custom design pieces that capture the energetic beauty and personal vision of the wearer. Her creative approach to design incorporates both PhD research into the body intelligence, and 19 years of astrological practice. This enables her to synthesize knowledge from diverse sources to catalyse her clients access their own innate wisdom and presence. A BRIEF HISTORY: After an Australia Council residency in Barcelona she co-founded the design collaboration Princess Produce with Tom Burless and Bridie Lander in 1995. Their Lunge lamp won the inaugural Sydney Morning Herald Young Designer of the Year award in 1996. In 1997 she began to study astrology with a particular focus on Psychology Astrology & Evolutionary Astrology. With a passion for costume, it was a natural progression for Sheridan to produce jewellery for fashion designers. These have included collaborations with Akira, Michelle Jank and Justine Taylor where she created jewellery with Autore South Sea Pearls for their parades at Australian Fashion Week. Design commissions have varied from large-scale public artwork to personal tokens such as engagement rings, and her work has been exhibited around Australia and in China, Japan, the UK and USA. Her artwork is in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Galleries of Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland, and Sydney's Powerhouse Museum. In 2003 Sheridan participated in the UK/Australia HAT exchange project and received the Australia Council New York studio residency. In 2009 she completed her PhD in creative art which focuses on theories of the new materialism and leading edge research into consciousness.
