I altered my oversized wedding dress and Joanna and Theresa were very helpful and worked extra hard in ensuring that the dress finished in time and according to how I wanted it. They even went the extra miles by making a bow for my shoes from the dress cutting and it was just very personal touch that I'll cherish forever. The dress fit well and no issue at all during the event, will come back for more alteration jobs to these ladies as they are the best!

I had an excellent experience here for my wedding dress alterations. We were planning to get married in June 2020 and the pandemic struck, so we thought we wouldn't be able to get married. Then we decided we didn't want to wait any longer! So I was worried, my dress was 2 sizes too big and the original place I bought it was closed and not responding. I found Sew Special online and called, Theresa was so kind and saw me that week. I was so grateful that she would squeeze me in. She went above and beyond for me, made my dress look spectacular and I could not have been happier! They even helped me with tips on how to walk in my dress which were invaluable to me on the day. I cannot thank her and Joanna enough and would recommend Sew Special to anyone looking for high quality and excellent service.
I cannot recommend highly enough. I took in 15 items requiring all sorts of repairs and alterations and was thrilled with each and every one. Johanna and her team are clearly incredibly skilled. A great place!
Amazing service. The ladies were lovely and were able make adjustments to a dress that didn't fit. The job was very last minute, but they were able to complete it quickly, in time for the event.
Sew Special recently altered my wedding dress. It was a heavily beaded gown that had previously been altered unevenly. Sew Special were able to re-hem it correctly and gave really valuable advice on what to alter, clearly drawing on many years of experience. They were very thorough and did not cut anything until they were positive it would be perfect. The other company's mistakes were fixed and dress looked great on the day. While I was happy to pay the prices and their service was 5 stars in my experience, others may find it quite expensive.

There is a reason Sew Special is always so busy, it's because they truly offer a wonderful alteration service. Compared to other alteration places that seem to add a few hundred dollars to a quote just upon knowing it's wedding dress, Sew Special offer reasonable prices whilst still delivering top quality alterations and advice. My dress turned out perfectly with a quick turn around.
I had a ball gown that needed a very straightforward and minor seam repair. I took it to Sew Special and was willing to pay the premium price (as compared to competitors I'd already spoken to) because it was a special item. I was therefore disappointed when I went to pick it up and the seam was gaping. I noted this and it was acknowledged that the repair had not been done properly, I then came back a couple of hours later for them to fix their own repair. I was still unsatisfied with the result. After 2 attempts at sew Special I will be taking the dress elsewhere. They were very pleasant staff, but I will not be taking any clothing back. It's distressing, when you have an item you value and you place trust in a service, to be let down.
