The Korean Australian Community Support Incorporation (KACS) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2014. One of KACS' landmark initiatives is to provide those who study journalism or media at Australian universities with scholarships to visit Korea and learn more about the country's history, cultural landscape and media industry. The scholarship promotes an academic and cultural exchange between Korea and the world, deepening the engagement of the Australian media with Korea in the future. On a wider angle, the scholarship aims to expose young journalists to different media systems to contextualise the Australian experience, and generates a long-lasting interest in international affairs. Applications for the 2019 cohort will be live early this year.
