Kittyhawk Reviews | Rating 4,5 out of 5 stars (8 reviews)

Kittyhawk is located in Sydney, Australia on 16 Phillip Ln. Kittyhawk is rated 4.5 out of 5 in the category bar in Australia. Kittyhawk is WWII French Liberation themed bar located in the courtyard of the Aurora Place building, across the road (Bent St) from Chifley Tower.

Our food offering is currently piloted by Liam Driscoll, Head Chef of our sister venue Big Poppa's. He has designed a highly shareable contemporary French menu that is well suited to enjoy over a few drinks. Kittyhawk's most popular dishes include our steak frites (for the more hungry) and the charcuterie and cheese plates (for those just looking to nibble).

But we're not just about food. At Kittyhawk, we pride ourselves on our inventive yet accessible cocktail list (yes, we do classics too) and service that makes everyone feel special yet at home.

Poor customer service. We had a reservation booked for dinner here last week, and as per their online booking form I provided credit card details for the booking with the caveat that if we did not attend there would be a cancellation fee of 50 per person. We arrived for the booking on time and gave our booking details to the waiter. Everything seemed fine, we enjoyed our night. However, the following day we noticed our card had been charged for not only our bill for the evening, but an additional 100 fee from Kittyhawk. Given the lack of phone number on their website, I emailed them to explain what had happened and asked for them to call to arrange a refund, only to receive a curt response of "You did not attend so we charged you the cancellation fee" even though I had already explained that we had attended for dinner. I am now in a back-and-forth with their event manager who has yet to call me at this stage and and is making no effort to rectify THEIR mistake. So disappointing, and total lack of care on the event manager's part. I get that mistakes like this can happen and I'm fine with that. But if you have taken undue fees from a customer you need to make a better effort in correcting this. EDIT: A week on from this we're still yet to receive the refund. Second reply from event manager was "show me your bank statement as proof that you attended and we can take it from there". The undue 100 fee I can accept as an honest mistake but the continued rudeness and tardiness to recitfy this is something else. Would have appreciated even just a sentiment of "sorry". Am yet to receive a call back, or a reply to my email from 2 days ago showing my bank statement.

Drinks were nice. Was disappointed that they changed the menu and removed that pasta dish after reopening which I was so looking forward to trying. Food came out really slow, we waited at least 30 minutes after the first 2 dishes and had to ask the staff to check on our order status. Staff didn't seem to have much knowledge about the menu. We ordered stake tartare(without noticing it comes with fries) so we also asked for a side of fries. Was only when the tartare was served that we realized there's a huge portion of fries in the dish. If the staff was woke they should probably suggest the customers that ordering an extra serving of fries wouldn't be necessary for 2 people when they already got the tartare. If you get a booth seating it's lovely, but there were all these teeny tiny squashed awkward 2 seater tables at the back end dining area which looks like they are just trying to squeeze as many people they can in the dining space. Like sure, now there are no restrictions anymore but some decent social distancing for the guests would still be nice. Noise level: way too noisy on the weekend - you can hardly hear the other person with that kind of tight seating arrangement. There's no way you can chat for 2 hours with that level of noise without getting a sore throat at the end as you'd be semi shouting the whole time. Great buzz for some drinks and laughs but definitely not an ideal spot for a proper catch up that involves a lot of talking.

Came here for a quick drink. Food was amazing, however the cocktails were very disappointing. Usually you can get a feel for what they would taste like before you try them, however my taste buds went the opposite way. Service, was amazing! Couldn't quite remember the guys name. But great job.

We loved having our wedding at Kittyhawk! Carlie was super helpful and we had a great experience working with her. Cocktails were superb and food was amazing. Look forward to going back here for a drink sometime soon!

It feels like this place is a bit of a hidden gem - as it's got the best cocktails and mixers, but no one is ever here! Maybe I visited on a quiet night - either way, it was a great experience. Live music, great space and ambiance, good for groups to chill/chat, laugh. I recommend!

Late post - dined here a few months ago. This place was buzzing and all tables were occupied. I recommend trying to book during peak times. Service was attentive and food came out at a relatively good pace. The steak and mussels were amazing. The place can get quite loud at times but it has a great vibe and is great for groups or couples. A place I’ll definitely head back to!

Had a great anniversary dinner here, the entrance is quite unique with the mini hallway, but when you enter the restaurant your eyes will feast on cost soft vintage furnishing. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The cocktails were well balanced and smooth.
