This stunning façade is the only part of the former Lismore Hotel survived today. The interior was demolished and now incorporated into the Century Tower, a block of high rise residential and business building. According to Heritage information available, this one of about five of similar buildings in the city. A significant landmark socially and historically for its contributions to similar hotel setups providing budget accommodation and social entertainment. This is so distinctive as it stands out from the rest of this giant building. On this corner façade is the Red Bottle Shop and the entrance to Century Tower. A beautiful example of Federation Free Classical style architecture. It was also known as Johnston's Family Hotel, Joyce's Family Hotel and Currier's Arms Hotel. Worth a look if you walk past Century Tower in Pitt Street.
