Am really going to miss the old David Jones food court! Spoke to a staff member who said they squished the older area into this one spot. Used to be an absolute gem, they previously had such an exceptionally extensive array of every type of baked good you could imagine, in every style, flavour and shape. Now, your options are very limited. There’s a few types of muffins, a few pastries, and you can sit and eat in the little new, cornered off cafe area but it’s just not the same. I miss the old area, where you could literally buy over thirty different types of cakes. It’s just not the same! They did have a decent array of edible food-related gifts around Christmas time, but the pricing is quite odd. Some items were exceptionally expensive and some relatively cheap, it’s up to you to spot what you want. Maybe I’ll give this place a second chance.

Overall unimpressed. The Asian food was very ordinary. Needs improvement, lacking in flavour... the thing that matters most. In a City full of amazing food David Jones isn't in the competition. Nice visit nonetheless and as a nostalgic landmark DJ needs to get back on their game and make the Food Hall great again

Great place to find niche and gourmet foods, gift ideas like fancy chocolates.

Going to David Jones Food Hall was one of my highlights when going to the city. Went there yesterday and couldn’t believe it. It’s been ruined. No atmosphere, no character and no ambience. Just an industrial cluttered shop. What happened to the variety. Where’s the beautiful patisserie and array of international foods. What a loss. Never going there again. Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

When I need something that I can't find at your everyday Coles or Woolies, they seem to have it here!

Brand new - but nowhere near as good as the old one. Just confusion and staff not knowing about what fod bar I can go to because of Covid - I wanted to go to the Carvery Bar but the lady said she had to 'check' to see if I could - she kept on going about the Asian food bar - she just wasnt entirely sure and just looked a litte clueless. Not a good look especially in a recession and the fact the renos cost ot of money.

Quiche was pretty good. Pie purchased was once warmed, but they couldn't reheat, but still tasted ok. Convenient toilet facility there. Can also pick up fruit, hot chicken, chocolates of sorts and some packaged snacks.
