I went to the dawn service Anzac day of remembrance for all the people of our country who give their lives and serve their countries at times of war, all wars. A fantastic memorial. Parking in several stations for Martin place. Easy for accessibility.

This is a nice place to relax. There are bench in the place that you make take just to look at the entire place. There is also a flower shop which sell tulips. So beautiful.

Is a special period during the Christmas season and especially meaningful to remember the fallen.

A place to reflect especially during ANZAC day. Have been to few dawn services here and it's a sombre experience with so many people attending at the crack of dawn. It's a monolithic stone block with two bronze statues of a soldier and a sailor standing guard. This is also a place to reflect on Armistice Day. The carvings read "Lest We Forget" on one side and "To Our Glorious Dead" on the other side. It's a beautiful War Memorial in Martin Place. Curiously, it stands right in front of number 1 Martin Place.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."

April 25th in Australia and New Zealand is a very important day, it's not just a public holiday it's so much more than that this day begins early with the dawn service and the last post during the day it gives the rest of us time to reflect and honour the soldiers who fought- for this fantastic country that what they did will always be respected, honoured and remembered, it's lovely to see the younger generation here for there great gran fathers. That is something they would be very proud of Lest we forget!

A shrine of remembrance in the heart of Sydney City, in Martin Place. A memory to the many who served in the first and second world wars, and other conflicts that have occurred since. This special place is used generally twice annually, on Anzac Day in April, and Remembrance Day in November. Other ceremonies are held on different occasions during the year. War is not a thing most civilized countries aspire to, but the memories of those who served their countries remain.
